Crazy Fairtrade Fortnight Offer!

For the next two weeks the Fairtrade initiative is being celebrated and promoted through fairtrade fortnight, a period from the 26th February - 11th March in which there will be various concerts, discussions, plays etc happening. To do my part I WILL BE SELLING MY OWN FAIRTRADE COFFEES AND TEAS FOR £1 !!! This includes cappuccinos, lattes etc (but sadly not hotchocolate or mochas!) So take advantage while you can and pop in for a cuppa.

As part of the fairtrade fortnight ‘Play Fair’ is a concert on 5th March from 7pm at Colston Hall, featuring Mankala, Jimmy Goodrich, and the ‘Hot Potato Syncopators’, I don’t know what a Sycopator is, but its a cool name! Tickets are available from Kuvuka. Proceeds go to tradecraft Exchange.

The Great Kuvuka Free Coffee Give-away!

On Friday, and possibly Monday Kuvuka will be giving away take-away coffees to people on their way to work, between 8-9am. No strings attahed, the idea is to get people out of their habit of walking past the cafe and on into work and into the habit of stopping to pick up a coffee.

Venue Magazine

There should be a column on myself and the cafe in this weeks edition of Venue magazine. If you have last weeks edition you’ll see a brief description on page 27, in typical journalistic style there are numerous errors in what’s a tiny paragraph, but hey, it’s a mention!

We’ve opened!

On Saturday, January 13th 2007 we have officially opened! It was a great time, and a day we’ve been looking forward to for years! Thanks to everyone who made it happen.

Thanks to Chris who has produced this website and all of the graphic design, Matt Germaine for legal advice, Uncle Ken for the furniture, Dave Mitchel and Woodlands for their support, Jacueline and charl, and Tigist and Rob for helping with artwork, providing cakes, and generally being lovely, my friends Dave B, Jon and Lucy, Marcus, Brad and Haze, Matt and Suzie, Dave and Taryn, for advice, support and help with painting!

Thanks also to my parents, who have given me the confidence and financial backing to give this a go, and most importantly to my wife Linzi, for her support through what has been at times a difficult journey.

And everyone else who’s ever popped in for a coffee!
